More about what others are saying:
"I read this book on the verge of a throw-down with my military husband...we'd just concluded our 4th move in less than six years, and I've been scrambling to find a job and get my education finished. After doing some of the exercises, I have really been able to solidify my goals for the future and have already begun working toward many of them.

This book does a great service to women like me, a stay at home mom and a dedicated Army wife, who doesn't want to feel like all I have in life are my kids or my husband's career. I particularly love the idea of a support/Dare to Dream group...and I'm working on putting one together as I write this. I'm already feeling more competent concerning my own life in connection with the military, and now that my husband has deployed, the suggestions in the book are only more relevant."

– Crystal Rendon, Army spouse, Ft. Hood TX

"Its down-to-earth tone made me feel as though I was reading a letter from one of my girlfriends. I was amazed at its depth and scope. It isn't another "bible" for hosting coffees and teas, or how to employ proper etiquette. Rather, it speaks of embracing various opportunities to craft your own inimitable life as opposed to waiting for the "perfect" assignment, next PCS move, or for your spouse to retire before pursuing your dreams."
– Charlotte Wilson, Army spouse, Ft. Knox newspaper review

"I devoured your book, highlighter in hand! I would tell you how necessary your inspiring words are in our community, but I suspect you already know that. I will have to buy copies for all of my friends and I can't wait to get started on my dream board."
– Jenny Sokol

The Definitive Self-help Book for Military Spouses
Reviewer: Bill McDonald – President of the MWSA (Military Writers Society of America)
"Authors Kathie Hightower and Holly Scherer have crafted a military family resource book that comes at a time when this kind of self-help literature is greatly needed. Their book "Help! I'm a Military Spouse - I want a Life Too!" is the best book of its kind on the market today. This book is about taking positive actions as a way to make the most out of the situations a spouse finds in the military environment. This book is an upbeat, proactive approach to life and I fully endorse the message and advice they dispense through out the pages.( Full review posted at www.militarywriters.com)

5-Star Review:  Must-read for Military Spouses!, February 24, 2006
Reviewer: Nikki C. Thomas (Ft. Rucker, AL)
As a new military spouse, I had been struggling (like many) with an almost hopeless feeling when it came to pursuing my dreams. In my particular case- Southern Alabama is NOT the place an aspiring actress wants to be stuck! However, after reading "Help! I'm a Military Spouse..." my spirit was uplifted and I realized that there are SOOOO many ways to pursue my goals- no matter where the Army sent us! With my renewed drive and new insight, I was able to do some networking and get myself into a NYC acting class, as well as land a PRINCIPLE role in a local movie. The book is funny, inspirational and shows you that there is a way!!!! Since I've read "Help! I'm a Military Spouse.." GREAT things have been happening for me! Go out and get this book now!

Especially as a military spouse...love it!, February 21, 2006
Reviewer: P. Ward (Ft. Leonard Wood, MO)
Being a military spouse myself....I'm loving this book!
Holly and Kathie's book is full of "you CAN do it" stories from front cover to back. Not only do they have lots of stories of others that have been successful, they have included practical (and fun) exercises in the book to help you on your way. I especially appreciate the message of balance and establishing your priorities. There are always opportunities available to us. Holly and Kathie have written a great book to help you see everything as an opportunity and discover your purpose in life. This is a must read for all military spouses or anyone wanting to make big changes in their life. Life is an adventure....live it!

What Military Spouses say about the workshop on which this
book is based:

“Wunderbar!! I have gained worthwhile and valuable information on how to turn my dreams into reality. I wish I had a seminar like this to attend 15 years ago.”
— Gwendolyn A. Williams

“I would tell other spouses this about your workshop. For anyone who is depressed, down, missing their spouse, it’s for them. For anyone not sure of what direction in life to take — career, hobbies, crafts, etc. — it’s for them. It’s a wake-up call. It lets you know you can do anything you desire and points out people who have.”
— Felicia Streeter

“I’m writing from DC where I’ve deployed with the Red Cross Disaster folks (post 9-11). Can’t tell you how much your workshop has helped me cope here. Stress can be a little high at times and I’m feeling extra specially skilled at dealing with it. Thanks to you both.”
— Carrie Mead

“I’ve never enjoyed anything so much yet learned at the same time.”
— Cynthia Behr

“Because of your seminar, I’m finally doing something that I totally enjoy. I opened and run the Office of the Red Cross here in Friedburg. It is all volunteer hours and I am in the office from 0900 to 1700 Monday thru Friday. Before your seminar I wouldn’t even have considered taking on such a responsibility, because the stress level is sometimes very high. Now I don’t let the stress bother me and enjoy what I’m doing so much. Are you coming back anytime in the near future? I sure hope so because there are many new wives who could use your help. Again my heart felt Thanks.”
— Carmen Garnes

“This was the best thing that happened to me in Germany!”

— Alicka Ampry-Samuel

“The two of you make a good combo” — mother and military/career woman. You are able to relate to the entire audience.”
— Kendra Coile
“Very motivating! Makes you not want to be a couch potato.”
— Barbara Connors

“You both make a great team. Thanks for making my life less stressful.”

— Blanca Howes

“I think it would be a good idea to do this seminar with your spouse prior
to deployment.”

— Amber Ricozzi

“Anyone and everyone could benefit from this seminar.”
— CPT Steve Adams (Well, he’s military and a spouse so his comment counts here. His wife convinced him to come to the workshop after seeing us elsewhere.)
